funkUs highly encourages fans to tape and trade live performances, unless noted otherwise. Audio recording is limited to portable equipment which includes microphones and a recorder, (mono or stereo devices only). Multitrack recording must be approved by band management. Power or other auxiliary equipment are generally not supplied so be prepared to bring your own equipment. If space permits, soundboard feeds may be given. If funkUs is playing in an event which features multiple bands, the taping policy of the headlining band or the venue will dictate the taping policy for that evening.
All taping must be for personal and non-commercial use only. No profit is ever to be made from live shows. You are permitted to trade shows with other fans for an equal amount of media (ie. 2 cds for 2 cds, including postage reimbursement, if applicable). funkUs will actively pursue those in violation of this policy.
This taping policy also applies to video recording and still photography.
We feel that the trading of shows is helpful in the encouragement of fan base growth and fan interaction, as well as a great way of having a permanent memory of a live show, each unique in it's own right. It is a continuing goal of ours to make taping as much a part of the show as possible. Please help us by following common sense at all times. Please keep clear of the crew and venue staff during the show. Remember that the audience's enjoyment of a live show is paramount and will never be sacrificed at the expense of a taper requesting fans to move, keep quiet, etc. Please respect other fans while you are taping.
All funkUs performances and recordings are the exclusive property of funkUs. All rights reserved. funkUs reserves the right to retract our sanction on any live recording at any time. The recording of funkUs performances is important to the livelihood of funkUs, and we thank everyone who has made an effort to comply with our taping policy.
Tape trading has created a wonderful community dedicated to the preservation of the music experience, and in our opinion, is saving the music industry from itself as technology continues to improve the quality of these musical moments captured, giving fans more free alternatives for musical appreciation and enjoyment.
